2024 Reflections: Adversity, Growth, and Planning for an Empowered 2025

Hi there,
It’s Renee Anderson here, Founder, Creative, and CEO of RNE ART Studios. As 2024 comes to a close, I’ve found myself deep in reflection, taking stock of the hurdles I’ve faced and the ways I’ve grown. This year has been one of the most challenging of my life, yet it’s also been one of the most transformative.

A Year of Adversity

2024 started off with a whirlwind of growing pains—personally and professionally. I had to reevaluate connections I once thought were unshakable. Being honest with myself about my needs, my boundaries, and my truths came with its own hurt. Even more challenging was finding the courage to share those truths with the people I care about. It’s a kind of pain no one prepares you for, but it’s a necessary step toward becoming the person I aspire to be.

On top of that, I had to navigate a sudden relocation. This move put me miles away from most of my support system—the people who have always been my anchor. Adjusting to a new environment while trying to build on my creative vision tested my resilience in ways I couldn’t have imagined. But amidst the isolation, I found a deeper sense of self-reliance and strength.

The Beauty of Growth

Through the chaos, I’ve grown—slowly but steadily. Growth isn’t always pretty. Sometimes it’s messy, painful, and overwhelming. But it’s also rewarding. I’ve learned to give myself grace when things don’t go as planned. I’ve learned to appreciate the strength it takes to be honest with myself and others, even when it hurts. And most importantly, I’ve learned that my journey isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress.

2024 taught me that the best way to grow is to align with systems that honor who I am and how my mind works. As someone with a “neurospicy” brain, I thrive on creativity, play, and gamified systems that give me that well-deserved dopamine boost.

Gamifying My Goals: The 2025 Goals Bingo Sheet

One of the things I’m most excited about for 2025 is my Goals Bingo Sheet. I first heard about this idea on TikTok from a creator I can’t quite recall, but it stuck with me. At the end of 2023, when I was in a dark place, this concept sparked something in me. It gave me a way to look forward to the new year with hope and excitement.

For 2025, I’ve created a personalized Goals Bingo Sheet, turning my aspirations into something tangible and fun. Each square represents an achievement, goal, or act of self-care. Whether it’s completing a new project for RNE ART Studios, carving out time for mindfulness, or building stronger connections, this system keeps me accountable while making the process enjoyable.

7 Things I’m Doing Before the End of 2024

Before I dive fully into 2025, there are a few intentional steps I’m taking to close out this year with clarity, gratitude, and purpose. These practices help me reflect on what I’ve learned, honor my growth, and set the stage for the year ahead:

  1. Reflecting on 2024
This year has been full of ups and downs, and I want to take the time to acknowledge them all. I’m reflecting on the experiences I’ve had, where I’ve grown, where I’ve succeeded, and yes, even where I’ve failed. Writing it all down allows me to better understand the lessons I’ve learned and carry them with me into 2025.

  2. Setting Goals for 2025
Goals give me direction, help me make decisions, and guide my choices. I’m writing my goals down and breaking them into actionable steps so I can start executing them right away. These goals are focused on becoming the highest version of myself, both personally and professionally.

  3. Thinking About Long-Term Goals
Where do I want to be in 10 years? This question might feel overwhelming, but I’m using journaling to create a detailed vision of my future. I’m asking myself prompts like: Who do I want around me? Where do I want to be? How do I want to spend my days? This process gives me a roadmap to work toward and helps align my present efforts with my long-term aspirations.

  4. Celebrating My Accomplishments
Sometimes we get so caught up in what we haven’t done that we forget to celebrate what we have achieved. This year was tough, but I’m proud of the progress I made. Taking a moment to acknowledge my accomplishments reminds me that I’m moving forward, even when it feels slow.

  5. Making a Gratitude List
Gratitude is such a grounding practice for me. I’m making a list of all the people, moments, and opportunities I’m thankful for in 2024. It’s a simple way to center myself and approach the new year with an open heart.

  6. Organizing Photos on My Phone
This might seem small, but organizing the thousands of photos on my phone is a way for me to reflect on the memories I’ve captured. It’s also a form of decluttering, which helps me feel more prepared to step into a new year with a clear mind.

  7. Spending Time with Loved Ones
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned this year is that you never know how much time you have left with the people you love. The plans we make for the future are just fantasies unless we take steps to bring them closer to reality. I’m prioritizing quality time with my loved ones and making the most of the moments we share now.

Looking Ahead

2025 feels like a clean slate, a chance to continue the work I’ve started. I’m determined to not let self-doubt or fear get in the way of my goals again. This next year is about more than just achievements—it’s about building a life and a business that feel authentically me.

To anyone reading this: If you’ve faced adversity this year, know that you’re not alone. Growth is hard, but it’s worth it. Take time to reflect on your journey, appreciate how far you’ve come, and plan for the future in a way that excites you.

Here’s to a 2025 full of growth, creativity, and connection. Let’s make it a year to remember.

Warmly,
Renee Anderson
