A lore fanatic. Derrick enjoys exploring deep and fulfilling worlds and stories. Escaping into a good anime or series is always a good way for him to lose himself in his imagination.

As a wee lad, he grew up on Fox Kids and Kids WB. Spending his Saturday mornings watching power rangers and cartoons by Marvel and DC comics. Then his life changed when he was introduced to Toonami.

The Binging While Black podcast comes from the tradition of Derrick and his best friend, Renee hanging out on the weekends eating good food, and watching movies and series. They want to use this podcast as an avenue to build connections with others who share their interests.

Ever since his first anime convention, Derrick knew that he wanted his life to include all things nerdy. Through the Binging While Black podcast he hopes to connect with organizers of cons like Blerdcon. He would like to help organize and manage conventions in the future.

His love of conventions and the atmosphere makes him want to build a space of his own. A lounge that caters to a nerdy audience and gives the same vibe as a convention to everyone.
